Most kitchens in Hayward will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in California usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Hayward is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Hayward is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I've been eating at this place for YEARS though I never bothered to write a review since they have been thriving with customers every day so a little boost from me wasn't necessary. However, I recently found out that a negative review was posted as a retaliation from private affairs with the owner rather than a factual dining experience. I do not agree with the comments made; as a matter of fact, the wait times for the food is a bit long as they are all cooked after you order. I want this place to continue thriving as there aren't any other Filipino street food places in the area compared to other cuisines. PROTECT THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS!!

One of my favorite Filipino restaurants! The food is always delicious, fresh, and full of authentic Filipino flavor. Every bite feels like home. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and the service is great. I really appreciate the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere. If you’re craving Filipino food, I highly recommend this place. I will definitely keep coming back! πŸ‡΅πŸ‡β€οΈ

I want to share a completely different perspective because my experience with Ate Em’s has been nothing but positive. I’ve supported them before, and every time I’ve interacted with them, they’ve been kind, hardworking, and genuinely appreciative of their customers. You can tell they put a lot of effort into what they do. I always come with my friends almost every week in South San Francisco, and sometimes in Hayward whenever we’re nearby. That alone says a lot about how much we enjoy the food and the overall experience. We also love Ate Em’s personality. She always welcomes our group and makes us feel appreciated every time we visit. People have to understand that food trucks operate very differently from regular restaurants. Their location can change daily depending on permits, events, and demand. That’s why many food trucks rely on Instagram or social media to give real-time updates. It’s pretty standard in the food truck scene. As for the food, it’s consistently good, flavorful, authentic, and made with care. You can really taste that home-cooked Filipino style that’s hard to find sometimes. It’s the kind of food that keeps us coming back. I also respect the hustle. Running

They are not located at the San Jose address. You will waste your time and money if you go there. Edit: "Ate Em" as she called herself, started texting me after I called them asking about the location and mentioned it was a massive waste of time and gas money to visit their business. The owner then started texting me, gave an empty apology, gave excuses and sent me marketing stuff. I told them I would absolutely not be following their Instagram nor ever support the business again (they wasted my time and gas money). The owner then became irate, started sending me harassing texts. I clapped back with a few roasts, and blocked them. They were literally texting me for like 20 minutes instead of attending to their food truck before I blocked them. That's who you'd be giving your money to. I strongly suggest supporting more responsible Pinoy owned businesses whom respect pinoys and the general public. She also threatened to post the text conversation to her Instagram to "laugh". Weirdo. I called them, they said follow their Instagram to know where they are. Why will I support or follow someone's Instagram after they wasted my time and gas money traveling here? They could simply post

BEST FILIPINO FOOD IN SAN JOSE! Tried so many Filipino places in SJ that were mid at best. Solid, Mang Inasal style Filipino food! We got the siomai, liempo, and sisig! Everything was delicious! Nice shaded outdoor area. They have suka, toyo, and Mang Tomas style sauce on the side as well.
